Yoga Kirtana began her journey in Carnatic music at the young age of 4 under the guidance of her mother, the renowned Vainika Vidushi J Yoga Vandana, and later received formal training from Karnataka Kalashree Vidushi Smt. P Ramaa. She had the privilege of training under Sangeetha Kalacharya, Sangeetha Kalarathna Vidushi Neela Ramgopal (late), whose mentorship significantly shaped her concert approach and manodharma.
She is an A-grade artist of All India Radio, Bangalore, and has had the privilege of performing in more than 500 concerts on esteemed platforms across India and abroad.
Yoga Kirtana has presented thematic concerts on subjects such as Javalis, Swarajathis, the life and compositions of Sri Muthuswamy Dikshitar, and Mysore Sadashiva Rao. She has collaborated on unique Jugalbandi concerts and participated in devotional programs like “Annamayya Paataku Pattabhishekam” on SVBC channel, showcasing rare compositions of Annamacharya.
She has worked with the Shankar Mahadevan Academy as the head of curriculum for the Carnatic Department and has received the “Sustained Excellence Award” from Padmasri Dr. Shankar Mahadevan for her contributions to the academy.
Additionally, she actively teaches and mentors students and has conducted workshops on various themes, integrating performance with pedagogy.
